Todd Hooks is a Physical Therapist with over 25 years of experience. He completed a Sports Physical Therapy Residency at the American Sports Medicine Institute. He furthered his training by completing a Manual Therapy Residency, Fellowship, and PhD programs at The Ola Grimsby Institute.
Leader in Physical Therapy. Todd Hooks is widely recognized as a leader in the field of Physical Therapy. According to the nation’s largest Physical Therapy outcome database, his patient outcomes rank him in the top 10 of all Physical Therapists nationwide. Furthermore, to highlight his expertise in treating knee and shoulder injuries, Todd achieved the highest-ranked combined knee and shoulder outcomes in the entire country.
Experience: Todd’s experience has allowed him to work with various sports teams, including:
- The University of Alabama
- The University of West Alabama
- The New Orleans Pelicans. Todd was nominated to work the NBA All-Star game during his tenure with the Pelicans
- The Cincinnati Reds. While working as the Physical Therapist for the Cincinnati Reds, the medical staff was awarded the Dick Martin Award being recognized as the best in MLB based on days lost and total injury cost.
Certification in Dry Needling: In 2013, he obtained certification in Dry Needling from Myopain Seminars. He learned directly from Myopain Seminars, learning directly from Jan Dommerholt, who is widely regarded as the world’s foremost expert on trigger point dry needling. Todd currently serves as an instructor for Myopain Seminars, contributing to the education of other physical therapists throughout the country in this technique.
Fellowship: Todd Hooks is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists, a prestigious distinction as there are less than 1000 Fellows nationwide and he is the only Fellow in the Birmingham metro area, this identifies his dedication to advanced training in orthopedic manual therapy.
